About Me

Hello and Welcome!!

I am Soooo excited for this long-awaited opportunity for my art to finally have a voice and space. I warmly invite you to join me on this journey of discovery as I grow with my art into the voice and brand that I am.  My sincerest desire is to be authentic, genuinely real, and uncompromisingly raw.

My name is Veronica Marie Esqueda and I was born and raised in Southern California, a city girl who found herself in the calm countryside of the East Coast, small town Virginia.  I lived all over Southern California, including Los Angeles, Long Beach, San Bernadino, and the San Gabriel Valley.  Then in the summer of 2017, I trekked East.  I now live on seven acres surrounded by the wooded countryside, outside a little blip of a town called Disputanta, Virginia, located about halfway between Richmond and Virginia Beach. I reside with my four awesome children and loving husband.  We homeschool the kids and give them the opportunity to raise chickens and goats and enjoy the beauty and stillness of the nature that surrounds us.

I’m naturally creative and as such have a knack for cooking, sewing (I adore reinventing my clothes!), and of course a love for drawing and painting in my studio.  I also love and embrace my Chicano and Apache heritage and culture and they are some of my thematic favorites among my art.  Moving from a fast-paced city life to a slower-paced country life has caused me to slowdown and embrace my creative force but also to really appreciate the beauty everywhere, such as the natural landscapes and the distinct and unique aesthetic gifts offered by all four seasons.  They not only draw me closer to the truth my inner artist but also to my connection with my native ancestors and the old way of life.

I’m currently a student of the amazing and wonderful Milan Art Institute, finally embarking on this journey and discovering my life-long dream becoming a professional artist.  Now is my moment to cast aside fear and self-doubt and boldly embrace my destiny.

With these final words, I humbly invite you along on this journey – of my hearts desire coming true becoming a professional artist!!

THANK YOU TO THOSE WHO ALWAYS BELIEVED AND ENCOURAGED ME ALONG THE WAY...
